After two years their union was soon blessed with four children: Bobby, Ryan, Ren, and Ria.
Rey is blessed with four children, each of whom has pursued distinct paths in their personal and professional lives.
Rechille John “Bobby” Rellon, his eldest son, was born on November 5, 1976 graduated with Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation. Bobby began his career as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with 911 Davao City in the Philippines. Seeking greater opportunities abroad, Bobby later worked as a firefighter in Qatar and subsequently served in the same capacity on an international cruise ship. He now in Medical Transport Specialist and resides in Brisbane, Australia, with his wife, Apple Leones-Rellon, a professional hotel chef. Bobby has a daughter, Jasmine “Rain” Rellon.
Ryan Cris “Ian” Rellon, Rey’s second son, was born on August 18, 1978 graduated with Gen. Radio Communication Operator and Bachelor of Science Major in Accounting. Ryan initially worked as a Sound Engineer at the University of Mindanao Broadcasting Network. He later ventured into entrepreneurship, establishing his own recording studio, SOUNDTRACK, which became widely recognized for producing political campaign jingles and collaborating with national recording artists. Ryan is married to Christine Jane “Tine” Verezano-Rellon, who manages online businesses in ticketing and clothing. They have one son, Ezekiel “Yoyoy” Rellon.
Renren Rey Rellon Jr., Rey’s third and youngest son, graduated with Gen. Radio Communication Operator and Bachelor of Science Major in Marketing. Ren dedicated over two decades working in his father’s photo studio. In 2005, alongside his then-girlfriend Honey, he co-founded a restaurant business while continuing his work at the studio. Renren has since transitioned into the field of finance. He is married to Reynaleen Grace “Honey” Asumbrado-Rellon, DPT (Doctor of Physical Therapy), a licensed physical therapist based in New York. The couple recently celebrated 22 years together and currently reside in New York City.
Ria Vanessa “Yang” Rellon-Matoy, Rey’s youngest child and only daughter, was born on July 10, 1987. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Davao Doctors College, where she later served as a professor. After a year in academia, she moved to Manila and worked in Human Resources for SM Development Corporation (SMDC). Driven by her aspirations for broader opportunities, Ria pursued a caregiving course and studied the Japanese language, which led to her employment at a senior living facility in Japan. She is married to Dr. Timothy John Matoy, PhD, a professor at Cebu Doctors’ University. Ria and her husband currently reside in Tokyo, Japan.
